I was reading this pretty awesome post on why it is that the new anniversary mosaic thing Blizz is doing has mostly Horde responding (by a big margin). The general outlay of the post is, why do Horde players have so much pride in being Horde where Alliance players don’t seem as willing to jump up and scream their faction out.
Anyway, while there are many ideas tossed around in the thread (many of which are totally on mark as possibilities, including the ‘Alliance need a good battlecry’ argument) the thing that actually caught my attention was a comment in response to someone saying the Horde are the underdogs [bold emphasis mine]:
Gnomes are my favorite race, and if anything, we are the true underdogs of Azeroth. Our goddam king sits outside the subway station like a bum, being destroyed by whichever Horde raid decides to wander through to kill Magi. Not to mention all the I love eating Gnomes + /punt jokes…
I laughed until I cried. Makes me want to go work on my Gnome because it’s so true!
